HomeMade HTML *just like Grandma used to Code!

This tip comes from Shearologist ~ Adding a custom cursor to your pages can be a nice touch. A step beyond the cursor trail, this tip allows you to customize the cursor seen on your pages.

Try changing the cursor that is shown. With a little copy and paste of a script it's simple to do. Many different types of cursor styles can be found on the internet for download, although there are more than a few already in the Windows Folder on your computer. The cursor file format is ".cur ".

You can either select a .cur file from your own computer at C:\WINDOWS\Cursor or create a your own original cursor using Microangelo or any other paint program that is associated with the .cur file format.

Not all programs are associated with the .cur file format which may lead to problems in opening a .cur for viewing or editing purposes. Download these 2 ( Microangelo is shareware) programs. Each is capable of handling the .cur format. Any small graphic that you saved as a .GIF can be converted to a .CUR file with these. * you can TRY to use a renamed gif, but transparency maybe an issue.

Once you have decided on which cursor you plan on using type the following code to be inserted in the BODY of your html ... you can also insert in the head section and it will work as well.

Don't forget to change the .cur file name found within this script (WHATEVER.cur)
to match the cursor you have chosen to display.

using Geo PAGE BUILDER ?   Take Notice.

  • How to insert the java cursor script into the BODY:

  • 1st you MUST upload the .cur file to your File Manager.

  • Next, in the Page Builder select "Insert" / "Forms and Scripts" and next click on HTML Codes.

  • Where it says "Description" just type in a name such as "Cursor Java Script".

  • Where it says "Script" copy and paste the cursor java script code exactly as it is shown here above, remembering to change the .cur file's name.

  • Click "OK".

if you run into a problem with this tip, try this alternative.
