HomeMade HTML *just like Grandma used to Code!

Another cool snippet of code for your webpages is the Audio-Tracker...... many of you may recall the Yahoo Messenger plugin that displays artist and track playing on WinAmp as your yahoo status message..... well this bit of code will show the same info on your webpage.

NOTE ! Audio Tracker is pretty much closed at this time.... i suggest you try  http://gerpok.com and the DOSOMETHING plug in.... the gerpok forums and DOSOMETHING have great how-to advice... so i will not duplicate it....

leaving audiotracker info up in case kaboon opens it again.. its a GREAT tool..no matter which one you use....

others tools... Audioscrobbler, Last.fm ,Skin-Zone.net , Viralsound ,
 and
Listen-to.com

Both WinAmp plug ins are free. and easy to use

Ready? piece of cake..... head over to Audio-Tracker.com and register for the forum. ( whole site is forum.... nice and easy to navigate.... read the n00b help and faq if you get stumped.) Opps! need Winamp? looking for Winamp2 ?

Got WinAmp? All registered? Then time to download the plug ins..... Audio-Tracker Plug-in for Winamp2  or Audio-Tracker Component for Winamp3 ~ check around Audio-Tracker site for any other programs plug ins...... then just run that installer...... then open up WinAmp. *Images from WinAmp 2.7.6 here i think...

* ps. make sure to check for an update to the WinAmp 2 plug in for Audio Tracker.

with WinAmp open, right click it and you will see a menu like this..... select options.... then preferences.... or... when open, do the CNTRL P to open the preferences screen

You will need to scroll down the menu on the left side..... to plug ins.... general purpose. Select the Audio-Tracker plug in ~ and the configuration screen will pop up.

In the Audio-Tracker configuration screen, enter your username EXACTLY the same as registered on the Audio-Tracker forums. It is CaSe SeNsAtIvE !! Then enter your password and click the Enable Audio-Tracker plug in.... then the OK button.

Almost done! Now go log into your mail program and find your welcome email! This email will show you the server your Audio-Tracker image is on..... this is the image and server that will be used for webpages and forums

audiotracker

Ready to use the Audio-Tracker on a forum or as a sig tag? just copy the code below and edit the server name.... replace the entire url with your  image server code. make sure to keep the [img] tags so it will show on forums.

Ready to use the Audio-Tracker on a web page? just copy the code below and edit the server name.... replace the entire url with your  image server code. and do not forget to put something in the alt tag.... *replace 'something' with a witty saying. or *ugh* or... :-).... whatever!

Now ! fire up WinAmp and start playing songs! The server may not see you immediately ~ just keep playing the songs... usually in a few songs, it has you all registered and active and is updating your webpages and sig tags! You can go to the url in your welcome email and check the image.... if it works there. check your code used on tags and pages....

Side note.. i had to allow winamp full net access via my firewall or it did not work... this is a good reason to use the latest version of WinAmp.

Also.. if the mp3 tag is incorrect or incomplete, viewers will see a N/A instead of the song title and artist....

check the Audio-Tracker faq and n00b forums again if you have any problems......  and don't forget...  Audio-Tracker.com © 2002, 2003 Kaboon ~ awesome ..... just awesome.
